After a gruelling week of games (10 in total), Tritons came away with one loss throughout the tournament against the Hamilton Panthers, who they eventually met in the finals after gaining second place in pool play.

And what a finals it was!! Tritons went into the final as the underdogs but managed to come away as the 2019 Gwynne Shield Champions with a 20 - 12 win over Hamilton Panthers! 

 

Following on from this tournament Richie Brown and Aaron Davey were selected for the Country vs City trials in which the Waikato Roller Mills team is chosen.  Congratulations to the Tritons team and management and also congratulations to Richie Brown who was awarded the ‘Ross Southcombe Cup’ for the top country player of the tournament.  Mean Tritons Mean!
