The decision was made late last year to start 2020 in a different way for our batch of Year 13s.

The plan was to invest some time really early on in the year to see if it would allow them to get the absolute most from 2020.

Whilst only time will tell whether it worked for the duration over the year, staff felt it was a really useful experience for everyone involved. 

Teamwork, leadership, personal development, big idea thinking, sharing and laughing were themes over the couple of nights we all shared together out at Whakaratatamaiti Marae.

Massive thanks to the YMCA crew who facilitated the activities over the two days and also to the staff who were able to come out and share some of the experiences.
