ARTS AND TECHNOLOGY | NGĀ TOI ME TE HANGARAU

The Arts and Technology subjects at Putāruru College give students the chance to be creative, practical, and hands-on in their learning. In the Arts, students can explore Visual Art, Photography, Graphics, and Toi Māori, where they develop skills in painting, drawing, digital design, and traditional Māori art. These subjects help students express themselves and build creative thinking.

In Technology, students can choose from Food and Nutrition/Hospitality, Digital Technology, Woodwork (Hard Materials), Graphics, and Horticulture. These courses teach real-world skills like cooking, building, coding, designing, and gardening. Students work on practical projects that reflect their interests and help prepare them for future jobs or study.

At senior levels (Years 11–13), students can earn around 18–20 NCEA credits in both Arts and Technology subjects. These courses are a great way for students to learn useful skills, explore their creativity, and take pride in what they create.
