PASTORAL | MANĀKITANGA

At Putāruru College, pastoral care is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every student feels valued, respected, and cared for. Our dedicated team, including Pou Arahi, whānau teachers, counsellors, and support staff, works closely with students to provide guidance, encouragement, and help with any personal, social, or academic challenges. We focus on building manākitanga, fostering kindness, empathy, and a strong sense of community. Through this positive culture, we aim to empower students to grow confidently, develop resilience, and build meaningful relationships that support their wellbeing and success both inside and outside the classroom.
